Dockerell 17 up for grabs.

Post by Dan C »

I only sailed my Dockrell 15 times last year, and my son now has his own boat, that I will (hopefully) get to sail, so I don't need mine any more.
The bottom seems to have dropped out of the boat market, so I don't expect to get much for the boat, even though I only bought her a couple of years ago and since then have replaced the standing rigging, had the cuddy repaired, fitted an automatic bilge pump, dome some GRP repairs (not finished sanding down) and generally fussed about a bit with her.
However, the original trailer was rotten, so I bought a new one last year for £1,500, and although I only paid £200 for the outboard, I replaced the pull-start mechanism, my son serviced it, replacing oil, and grease with the manufacturer's recommended stuff and and it was running well last year. I would be prepared to sell them for what I paid for them.
Make me an offer for the boat. If you only want the boat, and not the outboard or trailer, I can split them...although not sure how to get the boat off the trailer unless we float her off mine and onto yours at the slipway (which charges £16).
Based at Bridport, Dorset.
